the man that got away..

gal-judy-garland.jpg

A friend posted that she was listening to the song by Judy Garland..I vaguely remember hearing it before but I know that line all too well..

I don’t think he got away in my situation, I think he just left. He didn’t really want to be in a relationship, I had never been in one and he was way too young and I was way too inexperienced. Plus there was the whole job thing - we worked together and he was just looking for a fling. I wasn’t.

So it didn’t work as I thought it would. Yes, I still think maybe it would have been something great if fate had presented itself but I guess nope.

Ah..nope.

Hopefully I’ll snag the next one that comes my way, seems I like I waited the 7 leap years so maybe my luck will change this time..

I was looking up the history on the original song, originally done by Judy Garland and then covered by some of my favs..Jeff Buckley and Rufus Wainwright The Man That Got Away

caved..

I said I wasn’t going to spend more money on clothes..I got all these birthday gift cards and I still am not satisfied..

I’ve been losing weight, slowly but surely so I said I would wait until I got to a healthier size and splurge..but now with jewelry you never have to worry about your weight…so of course that’s all I look at now until that time comes..

So I fell in love with this necklace from Jcrew. You’d think I was crying over “real” jewels but no, I can’t afford the good stuff so I cry about over priced fake stuff or what my mom likes to call in her thick colombian accent “fantaSEEEAAA”

Me in the poor house with a pretty neck.. that will be the title of my biography

twitty..twit..twitts..

stewart.JPG

Okay I have a twitter account but I still don’t get it or like it really..it really doesn’t make any sense to me and it’s just one more password to keep forgetting and deal with..

But in terms of business it makes no money SO you can’t really argue the logic behind it. Yes, it’s a great way to promote your site, bring more clicks to your native website and generate buzz but if you can’t plop ads on the page then how does it bring home the bacon?

So I stumble onto this article from the NY Times and it justifies the idea - that Twitter makes no money BUT the “co-founder is fine with that”..um what?

They get tons in funding but make no revenue? sounds like a Madoff scam to me..

I think it’s complete bs..you can’t tell me this is some great business model. It’s not, they make no money - they are begging for funding. They serve no real purpose except letting you and I dwell in being narcissistic

Maybe I’m all wrong and being overly skeptical and this is just pure genius. Or..

where are the real men?..

Paola’s Roses

Read this article on frisky.com about how “real men buy flowers”..

Yeah, no they don’t. There are no real men, you might find one or two that stumble into your lifetime but when they actually treat you right your just shocked that they exist so you question all their sincerity because you’ve been treated so badly…um. bitter party of one..

Well if there are men out there who are listening, which I doubt since no one reads this - thank god! - but if you happen to stumble upon this please, please PULLLEEEZZE take this advice.

Women love flowers and will LOVE you if you give them flowers and will remember every flower you will ever give them till the end of their days. Don’t mail them or order them online - pick them up from your nearest florist and pick out the colors that you like and hand deliver them..trust me there is nothing sexier than that and she will love you for it..

polaroid camera to be relaunched in 2010..

dead-polaroid.jpg

Thank god I didn’t get rid of my 4 cameras..well thank god I was too lazy to clean the hall closet and get them out..

I thought what a stupid mistake to stop production..but I guess it’s a wake up call that yeah, even though we don’t use them as much doesn’t mean we don’t love them..so thank you polaroid for being business savvy..and when it’s relaunched my old cameras will still sit in that closet but I will make sure to wipe the dust in appreciation..
