sell your logos on IstockPhoto.com..

Just stumbled upon this email…
We’re excited to announce a whole new product coming to the iStock collection in just a few months: logo designs. Our clients will be able to download a unique logo to brand their business or organization right here at iStock from designers like you.

As a designer, you’ve probably created hundreds of different logos over the course of your career and we’re offering you an outlet to start selling new logos to the world’s largest community of creative buyers.

If you create one of the first 10,000 approved logo designs for iStockphoto by January 1, 2010, we’ll pay you $5 per approved logo and another $5 if we reach 10,000 approved logos by that date. So fire up Illustrator to create some amazing logos or dust off all those much-loved logos that never made it past the third round with a client.

We will begin taking applications from potential iStock logo designers soon. There will be a Logo Training Manual made available before we begin accepting files. In the meantime, please join the discussion about logos here.

a fig lover..

dsc_1000.JPG

This year we finally saw figs on the fig tree..

Since my dad passed away we haven’t seen a single fig, over 6 years now and not one until this year. Didn’t do anything different, still cover it up before the fall frost and reveal it once the cherry blossoms bloom in D.C. (my dad’s tip)

So now I’m just waiting for them to get mature enough to pick and try out..but it’s getting cooler so I am hoping it will happen before the fall takes bite. My father would be proud at least that we made it this far..

coupon for 4Over.com…

picture-12.png

A printer source I stumbled upon a few months back..you set up a trade account for your creative company, I started a LLC two years ago when I started freelancing with Golf Range and do side projects so I always needed pricing on print pieces but could never seem to make a profit, printing is expensive obviously BUT if you go through a source like 4Over.com you save at least 40-50% off the average price and mark up the printing and still save your client moola…

Every month they also offer a coupon - http://www.4over.com/septend/

martha, flowers and me..

20090803_mslo_right.jpg

If you know me well enough you know I love, no adore - flowers. All kinds, all shapes, colors..smells. Doesn’t matter I love them.

So I am an avid giver of flowers since I believe in some sort of karma, that what you give or do comes back to you SO I secretly hope all the flowers I give will somehow find their way back to me..

If you know someone who likes flowers and deserves them send them through Martha Stewart and 1800Flowers..they so far are the best I can find

I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike…

glidep8.jpg

I have fallen in love with this bike. The Dahon folding bicycle. I’ve convinced myself that instead of trekking my long commute that I’ve been doing for over 10 years I would ride this bike to the train station, proceed to fold it up and then ride my merry way to work on the Post Road or as I call it Connecticut Ave.

“YEAH right” my brain recites over and over.

The color reminds me of my dad’s old Mercury car that he had that I used to call cafe con leche (coffee with milk - probably the only spanish I could recite at 4 yrs old)

My own cafe con leche bicicleta..

Doesn’t help that this bike is over $800 pretty pennies. More reason why this will be a dream.
